Fishing in Dakhla
Ocean Vagabond Dakhla is specialised in deep sea fishing.
We own two 7m20 boats, equiped with 90cv engines. We fish in the Dakhla lagoon, around the the deep rocky ares of the lagoon.
We use short fishing rods or the ''palangrottes' (long nylon string with 100 to 150grams of weight) using size 6/0 to 8/0 fishing hooks. The rods and reels we use are made by ''DAIWA''.
The range of fish we catch is quite various and the catch can eight as much as 20kgs, Check our photo gallery for pictures of our catch.
At Ocean Vagabond Dakhla, we specialise in organising fishing tours around Dakhla, Western Sahara. Teh catch is the ownership of the skipper and can of course be enjoyed that evening in our restaurant, cooked by our chef. the rates for the Dakhla fishing tours are:
- 1/2 day for 1 to 3 fishermen: 120€
- 30€ per extra fisherman
- 4 people per boat max
You can also enjoy the local Dakhla oysters as well as the numerous crayfish. Do not hesitate asking our kind staff to organise a seafood platter for you.
As for spearfishing in Dakhla, it is still a very young sport. The Dakhla lagoon waters are rarely clear due to the constant movement of the sea but the waters are full of fish. Contact us for further information.
